Default Interesting idea

I just came across this simple idea using a super magnet. The magnets are readily available as shown.

I have a similar magnet. Mine was free tho, got it off an old speaker. I have mine on a string, and mostly use it for getting things that dropped where it would be very hard to access otherwise. Nice for picking up spilled nails and such also.

Thanks, Harry. You can get the magnets at Harbor Freight in the US. I have two stuck in the bottom of my overhead cabinet- center finder, scissors, paint can opener hanging on them. I have a flange that could be adapter to the setup.

I find doing that I get all sorts of other small/tiny particles stuck to the magnet, a right b* to clean off. I use magnetic sheets on my metal lathe when turning steel to catch the swarf, to make the magnet easy to clean I put it in a freezer bag beforehand, just peel off the freezer bag and you have a clean magnet and the swarf drops into the swarf bin.
