And ... suddenly this afternoon it is gone, and back to being a header ad. I'm okay with that.

I ran CCleaner and now I have the same thing as you. The only other time I've had this was also only on the router forums, and it was a huge Home Depot ad that i couldn't get rid of. It went away after about a month.

It seems I never finish what I

Funny I had opened several Router Forum posts in different tabs and this was the second tab I opened and I read the post. I decided that this was a problem some people were having and I was not affected by the adds.

I closed the tab for this post and the post in the next tab had the adds on both sides. I just reloaded the page and they went away. None of the other posts had the adds and none that I opened after that had the adds.

It's amazing to me that these kinds of problems only happen on RF...I have zero problems on any other site/forum...just sayin'...

I've actually never looked at the forum on my desktop computer. I use Tapatalk on my phone for this and other forums (fora?). What ads there are courteously show up in line between messages, where I can safely ignore them - and the time on screen counts as an eyeball view so the advertisers are happy.

On the desktop, I use Google Chrome with an ad blocker, privacy protector & tracker eliminator.

Yup...that's it...Interesting that the ad on each side of the page are (together) the ad that's up top center...it just got split up...

Now that gives a whole new meaning to "framing"...
