Default Amazing wildlife in my own backyard

My wife and I decided we would try to do our own grass cutting and yard work this year for the needed excercise (I must have been drugged when I voted on that one ) Anyhow, after wonderful steak dinner we went for a stroll around the yard to admire our handy work from this afternoon and brag on our efforts with each other. We have 13 big 80 year old oaks on our property and they are a haven for birds and other wildlife such as squirrels and such.

As we rounded one corner of our house, I noticed something bright white on the grass under one of the oaks. At first I thought it was a piece of trash that had blown into the yard, but then realized it was moving about. As I put my glasses on and focused in I realized it was an albino squirrel. I have never seen one before and was really taken back by it. He was just going about his business with the other squirrels around like he was nothing special at all.

We could not get to the camera inside in time to get a shot, but will certainly keep it handy in case he returns. This may not be anything special for a lot of you, but it was a very special sighting for us never having seen one before. I think someone posted a black squirrel a couple of yeas ago and I thought that was pretty amazing and this albino fits right in there as something very special for us.

Anyway, just had to share it here and if I can get a picture I will add it later.

I have a persistent wife armed with a camera

She was able to get a few distant shots and promises better ones if he returns tomorrow.

Bob,

I've seen a few black squirrels, mainly the brown squirrels, even the grey ones. I have to say, this is the first I've seen an albino one. Way cool.

I must warn ya, don't try to tame it. They do and will bite. But, keep the pics coming.

Ken

Isn't it amazing what you can do with Photoshop?

Bob I hope to see that rascal the next time I come over. I too have never even seen a picture of one much less one in real life!! So I need to come see the new Dewalt and the squirrel!! Goodness don't let the squirrel police know it is there, next thing you know you won't be able to enjoy your shop or your yard!!

Cool. Have you ever seen an albino aligator?
