Closest I got to the fourth dimension was back in the 70s but I try to forget those times but I keep having flashbacks LOL

I prefer to think of time as intervals between states and events. Much easier to think about that way. If the universe scintilated out of the potential energy of the void, then you have intervals between "pops" of energy, and the lingering of energy that has changed state to matter. But don't dwell on this because it will drive you crazy.
