Default Cell phone numbers go public

Cell Phone Numbers Go Public Next Month.

Reminder…. all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

Even if the message is saved on your phone, you will be charged for the minutes to listen to it.

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.

It is the National Do Not Call list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.
You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.
You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.
It takes about 20 seconds.

Life isn't right, wrong or fair. Life just is.

Is there anything about government that isn't stupid?

I would make sure before I did this, that it was a legitimate "Do Not Call" list.

In Canada, some of the telemarketers actually were found to have BOUGHT the governments "Do Not Call" list and used it to call people!! (and we Canadians are usually such polite people)

Julie, in the US there are hefty fines for companies who violate the do not call list.

Like they really care about having to pay it.
If you start asking questions, they put the phone on the desk and walk away.
Happens to me all the time.

The problem is, apparently these are not Canadian companies that buy the list. They are either American or offshore. As I understand it, legally, Canada cannot fine a company in another country for using the numbers.
