First off, it would depend on what I was wanting to see the boss about. If it was something important that needs to be brought to the bosses attention, then I would get some kind of proof of the threats and go directly to the boss and present him with both accounts.

Hi levon

That's a real real real hard one...if you stand up in the boat it's good bet you will get push over the side.. by one or both of them...I would say put your hands in your pocket and sit down...hahahaha most that speak up will pay for it in the long run..you only have 4 or 5 years to go and to put up with that BS,,, now if you where only 25 years old well you see what I mean...no one likes to be told they made a error in judgment and that's what you are tell the big boss....by putting your boss in place..I'm sure he will fix it and you too..

Make a note and put it your file of notes and if it comes up you have a record of it ..
The chain of commands is hard to break..and I'm sure you know that..

Hi levon,

If it were me, I'd still go to the boss just to let them be informed. Just make it known that you aren't trying to "rock any boats". I've been there, done that.

I have to agree with George, but as you say that it's only hearsay, how can you know that it's the truth? It appears to me Levon that you're not really happy where you are so why not start looking around for something better, I know that jobs are hard to come by in the present climate, but because you are currently employed, you can afford to take your time. Good luck to you.

What is the issue? The answer to that would make all the difference to me if it were a moral issue than that would invoke a different response than say someone who has done something stupid but it is not a moral issue and will not jeopardize the companies operation and reputation.

If a supervisor threatened me I would make a detailed written account of it and proceed to the boss, provided I had a valid reason to do so. A list of any witnesses to the situation would be helpful.

If it was a physical threat I would most likely laugh, but this is not a good course of action for everyone.

I threaten the RouterForums.com staff on a daily basis, I sware they work harder

On a serious note: I would do my best to bring something to the boss that proves the threat took place and allow him to deal with it.
