Default Man-O-Man....

....it's HOT.
94 degrees in the shop. Sweat pours off. Raises the grain, too.
Just two more weeks and we'll be at 8500' at Crested Butte, CO.
Anxious.

Gene, apart from the irony of you living in a place called "Snowflake" and suffering from the heat, you shouldn't complain. It's mid winter down here and it's cold and damp. Care to swap?

I've cut it twice and it's still too short! But only at one end.

Thumbs up I'll trade

I'll swap. For a couple weeks. I'll be on Okinawa for two weeks soon. Not too far of a jump from there to NZ, right?
As for "Snowflake", its a combo name from the two founders. A Mr. Snow and a Mr. Flake. Mormon pioneers.
And it does snow here. Not much, but we saw a 3 footer 2 years ago.
Last year we got MAYBE an inch all winter.

What? Only 94? You guys must be having a cold snap. Just yesterday it cooled off to 97, breaking a string of 19 days of triple digits here.

Not too far Gene. Only eleven hours as the Jumbo flies Interesting about the Mormon pioneers. Our town was named after Sir William Hutt who never set foot in NZ. The only snow we ever see here is on the ranges behind us and as far as I'm concerned it can stay there

Right now (5:50 pm) it's 105 degrees. Been this way for about a week and a half. Seems a little warmer in the garage so I havn't been doing any WW. By the time I get home from work I just havn't felt like it. After being out it for 8 hours, it kind of drains your energy.

I think I remember why I moved the shop from the garage to the basement, even with out A/C directed into the shop the temp stayes between 72and 78, I can handle that just great. In fact I have all the windows open and the low will be about 60 so it will really cool off down there.

It got to 64 here today. We have another low pressure swirling around us keeping the summer away. Stupid weather.

Gene. When you're in Co. go to Pikes Peak. if it's 85 in Co. Springs, it'll be 28 up top side.

No wonder we see so few photo shoots, it's either too cold, snowed over or too hot to work in the shop.

Naw, I just don't do much that's worthy of a camera. Besides, I'm ashamed of the condition my shop is in. I only clean it when I start tripping over the sawdust piles.
Right now, I'm re modeling a salvaged (out of a gov. office) counter/bench. Adding bunches of drawers and sliding shelving. Gonna paint it bright orange. Using excess bamboo flooring for the top. When it's finished, I'll post it, I promise. Will be good for a laugh.
