Default Happy Thanksgiving to All

I'd like to wish all here and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. If you are traveling, please be careful out there. Tomorrow, as we say grace at the table we'll say a special prayer for all our loved ones in harm's way too....freedom ain't free, and the price is certainly higher for them.

Personally, I don't do new year's resolutions but rather I "re-evaluate" at Thanksgiving....I have an awful lot to be thankful for, but I know there are those who are certainly less fortunate out there. I try thru the year to help when and where I can, but over this holiday I always try to look back over the past year and see where I can improve. I already see that I didn't spend enough time this past year with habitat for humanity and the reStore due to my surgeries, so that's a big focus for me upcoming. There are also a multitude of orgs that help our returning veterans with home repair problems, especially those that require modifications for wheelchair access, etc. They need my/our help as well. I realize this is a router forum, but I'm sure many/most here, as I, are skilled in many facets of woodworking/home building. Can you imagine if the members here....how many thousands?.....each stepped up for one day at a habitat home ? How many manhours would that total ? wow.....

There's so many things to be thankful for, and so many ways to be giving. Sorry, not trying to preach at all......just thinking aloud early this mornin'.

Thank you Bill for a most appropriate post. I wish you and everyone here a most Happy Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for and will spend most of the day tomorrow offering my thanks and praying for others that are less fortunate.

Hi Bill, Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! You have the right outlook on life. Just imagine if everyone thought this way...that would be awesome. But all we can do is hold up our end the best way we know how. Your post has caused me to rethink my past year and I see many areas where I would like to improve on as well. Thanks for being so candid.

Woodworking is more than a hobby.
It is a journey of discovery,
An application of innovation and creativity,
And an opportunity at self improvement.

I too thank you Bill, and to everyone tomorrow please remember the men and women and their families that will spend tomorrow apart, guarding our freedoms. Freedom is not free; someone must guard the gate in our stead. Thanks to all you veterans.
