Default What happened to the woodworking on this website?

I,m not trying to be rude or impolite to those who play, But what happened to all the woodworking that used to be on here? I got to look at new post and 1/3 of them almost daily are word games. Isn,t this a woodworking website, not a game website. I think theres a time and place for everything, but this is not a gaming website last time I checked it was RouterForums as the title indicates, Hows someone to take this 1st time they come here and its all game talk

Usually you only see the game players after it gets late and all the woodworkers have gone to bed, except me. I agree that it is a big disappointment to go to the forum and see nothing but word game posters. I don't get that either. I think they just fill up a lot of space with meaninglessness.

Hi
I would also agree, it's Not a game forum..it has put me off too but it's not my forum..I did say something about it but was told sit back down and just let things be.."they have the right to use the forum the way they want to use it"..but I think they just may kill a great wood working forum ..

It's like a bad worm in a barrel of apples, maybe someone should start a poll to let Mark and the moderators know how the members feel about it.

I would say let the gamers play but on a off site server..but not on the main page.

Tommy, I'm with you, I signed up recently mostly based on the title, "Router Forums", and I had hoped to learn more about using my routers and get some solid tips on jigs and tables... not so. I do often times come on and have to scroll thru many word games, which I have not ever visited, (so maybe they would be fun and I am missing out), but I think a word game forum would be appropriate for them, and router discussions would be more appropriate here, I also think it would energize the site for the moderators to moderate and keep the site on topic.

Default A simple fix

It would be a very easy fix for Mark to exclude the Word Games AND Lobby forums from the "New Posts" button which would make a big difference in what has to be waded thru. They could still be accessed from the main menu, just not picked up in new posts.

Getting Mark's attention on this may be the hard part though

I agree with all the above. On another forum I frequent, the "new posts" button actually lets each user choose which of the sub-forums' new posts are shown for them. I find it pretty handy..

Yep, very handy.
I don't mind the games and I've contributed, but having to wade through them to get to the woodworking posts has become onerous.

+ 1 to that!
I'm only coming here when I know I have extra time, otherwise I'm looking where I can see just what I want to see.

The deed is done!

Word Game posts will no longer be indexed on the "Latest 10 Posts" section.

Is this an acceptable solution to the problem?

Edit: I have also included posts from the Lobby as well.

Edit #2: Also, I love these types of suggestions, if one of you guys see something you don't like and have an idea or a thought on how you would like it, please don't hesitate to contact me. You guys are the community, and I want to make sure that you guys are having fun and enjoying the community as much as you can. Plus, I love to improve the forums . This was a minor oversight of mine and looking at it now, it's a great suggestion. Thanks for the feedback!
