Default A week well spent.

I had the opportunity to spend last week with some 45 other volunteers framing a 11000sf addition to the First Baptist Church of Manteno Ill. Most of the crew from the Atlanta area arrived Saturday May 29th and joined the advance crew with raising the last 3 walls to go up for that day. We took Sunday off but started early Monday and worked 11 to 14 hour days. It was our goal to have the facility framed by Friday May 5th. The only day we did not work was Thursday, that day we went into Chicago for a break day. We worked a total of 4 days and completed about 95% of our goal. It was a great effort by all.

What a magnificent achievement Jerry, everyone who played their part must feel very proud. Another example of what "people power" can achieve.

That's great, Jerry, Thats a lot of framing ! But it is a great lot of fun to get together with your Brothers! I'll bet that You came away with more from that than accomplishment!! Great job, My family passed through there when My Wifes Parents were still alive.

great job, Jerry,

I noticed the tyvek for the wall lining.

Is that still popular in the US?

I have some maps printed on Tyvek, cannot tear them and waterproof.

Rewarding work Jerry. Bless you.
Where there any buttons to push in the Museum of Science & Industry?
Did you get to go aboard the U505?

There were lots of buttons some worked some didn't. The tour of the U-505 was interesting, To stand in a weapon of war that had actually fired on allied shipping and bore the scares of the last battle was sobering.
