Default I've been off my game lately

Instead of doing projects with wood, It's been more with iron.
After restoring the RAS, I happened upon a band saw. A 1966 wood/metal Delta with riser that had been rusting away. It looked like the thing had been sitting in 3 inches of water, with the upper wheel cover on the floor next to it. A real shame.
So, I've been taking it apart, sand blasting it, painting, oiling, etc. I'll probably keep this one and sell my 2001 model.
Then, hopefully, I can get back to making something out of wood.

hi Mike,

i,d love to attempt restoring an older tool like that. im sure it will make you a nice bandsaw.

i do have a question, can you tell what size the motor is on it and are you going to need to have anything done to the motor other than brushes, etc. i would think that motor probably has oiling ports on it, but thats a guess as i have no experience with older tools much.

nice find my friend!!!

I would like to be off My game, I think I would like to get older tools running. Does it have two speeds? I noticed the second pulley. I suppose it could be an air pump to blow sawdust away, Sorry, I think that is a great hobby in itself!

Mike I bought my bandsaw off Kijiji and to say it needed a little work is an understatement. But after some fine tuning and some new wheel tires, blades and bearings I have one heck of a great bandsaw. Sometimes it's worth a little TLC to restore a good tool.

The motor is a 1/2hp OEM. Motor is in good shape. It is brushless, as most motors are.
It is basically a 2 speed, but the lower, metal cutting speed can be adjusted with the pulleys. It has a shifting mechanism for the gearbox in the base.

It's fun taking a machine down, sand blasting and painting it, and getting it back together to use. I'll probably sell my 2001 model and keep this one.

Here's a pic of the shift gear.
