Default Bargain Finds - Tell us your story

I happened to be in Melbourne for work, and on a Sunday morning I ventured from my hotel room to the nearest Shopping Centre where to my amazement that had a "Trash and Treasure" swap meet in the car park...well what can I say, I found this little beauty Mitutoyo for $20. Brand Spanking New, just needed a new battery, and works perfectly....someone tells me these things sell for over $100 on e-bay.

Write in and tell us about your golden find

Bargain finds are almost my entire shop. I don't even know if they are worth listing them all.

Mine is not exactly a Bargain Find as I didn't exactly "Buy" them but got paid with them for work I did but in my opinion it was one hell of a bargain cause there is no way in hell I could have purchased them for as little work as I did to obtain them.

A guy I know used to do woodworking as a side job making bar tops etc but then health stopped him well over the years of people misusing his tools/shop it was in a total mess to the point it looked more like a bomb hit it. So one day I offered to help clean it up,arrange stuff etc guess its my OCD of an organized shop I cant stand to see tools and a shop in this state.
I helped with that and then a few other things around the property not really expecting any kind of payment just trying to help well he said seeing how you do wood working I got some tools Ill never use again and would rather they go to someone who will take care of them and use them than just sell them for pennys on the dollar so we started loading them up me feeling kinda guilty as I didnt wanna take advantage but he offered I didn't ask.

He gave me:

10" planer/molder
22" throat cast iron scroll saw
12" craftsman bandsaw
Delta 10" table saw

I guess in the long run being a nice guy does pay off.

Dont forget to live life for fear of death grasp each day and live it to it full otherwise it is pointless.

It's my lucky day.
I've just been given a 300 mm steel rule and a Mitutoyo (U.K.) Verynear caliper.

That's right 0, null, nada, nix!

They are out of Calibration and so can't be used.
