Default the best laid plans

it seems that sometimes things just dont go as planned.

i was happy to make a start on a small cabinet for my bathroom. the way the wall is built, im having to build the cabinet sort of stick by stick. well i had made 2 boxes for the inside of the cabinet when our family pet "Mollie" got sick. a sweet jack russel that would have been 16 in january.

i had to have her put to sleep.

then i started priming the cabinets boxes and greveing our loss. while trying to prime the boxes, i noticed how hot it was in my shop and realized my old a/c unit went out.

i went to lowes and bought a 25000 btu window unit that was plenty big, installed it. it wasnt but a couple of days, i was sure it wasnt cooling right.

then yesterday, i took it baqck and got another.

so after 2 weekends work, my shop is comfortable again and im back making slow progress on the cabinet.

Hi Levon,

Our "Susie' ( a Sydney Silkie)was 18 when we had to put her down.

Until that happens, you don't realise how much a part of the family they are.

Are you going to take on another member of the family?

I too am sorry for your loss; I still miss my dog, even 12 years later. Sad to gear about the AC, but good your shop's back to being cool. Like Deb I'm looking forward to seeing your cabinet. Will you please take pictures as you go? I've never thought about building a cabinet it place. It would seem to offer lots of extra "opportunities"...

Good morning buddy, was thinking about you yesterday and wondering how the filteration unit hunt was going. Well I think I have an idea now. Pets do become part of the family for sure, sorry for your loss.

Hello levon ! I am sorry for Your loss. I have been down that road to many times. For any one who considers a Dog as just another pet hasn't had the closeness that You can have with a Friend. Time will heal many things, including the feeling that You feel now. I wish You and Yours comfort.

Very sorry for your loss Levon. Always difficult when one of our furkids passes on.

thanks to everyone for their support.

i need to take a few pictures , just havent had the want to. the cabinet isnt going to be a big deal, just a shallow cabinet like a medicine cabinet but bigger.

after priming and putting on the first coat of [paint on the 2 boxes, i see a real need for one of the small hvlp sprayers. my hand shakes and i find it impossible to make straight strokes with the paintbrush.

as for the filtration unit, Jerry , i have a birthday coming up and had thought about getting one then.

i know woodcraft sells them, i have to see if they stock them or ship from the factory.

Sorry for your loss. We had a Jack Russel (Samantha) and we had to put her down when she was 15. I don't think there is a better dog. So much energy and so smart.
Now we have a small Poodle (attitude problems) and a Dachshund ( dumb as a box of rocks). I have grown to love these two but I miss the Terrier.
