I am going out today to pick up some wood from Ralph Hugus, same place as last year. This year I will be getting mostly cherry, maple, sycamore and some other figured pieces. His supply of walnut is low but I have sufficient at home to last a year or more.

I looked over the Kiem web page and was disappointed to see it showed very little of what is there. In the tool department they have Powermatic, Steel City, Jet, Shop Fox, Delta and much more. Most of their customers are small woodworking business in the area making furniture and such. I guess those could be a good source of wood left over’s for turning, stools, boxes and the like.

We in the Chicago area are fortunate enough to have a great hardwood supplier as well as a great tool store.

+1 for Keim Lumber.
I only live about 35 miles away and they are my first source for almost everything.
And, they are factory authorized service center for just about every manufacturer that they carry. Very helpful and friendly staff too.

Let’s see, I picked up 30bf of 1/4 sawn sycamore and elm, 2.00/bf, 40bf of cherry and 30bf of figured maple that will need some major work to see all that is there, 1.00/b. From Kiem I will show pics of the Rhodesian Teak I picked up. To commpiloet5 and Roger I say you are most fortunate.

BTW where do you live, my wife is from Kidron I am from up south east of Cleveland by Solon and Chagrin falls area. Maybe the next time I'm up that way we could get together. commpiolet5 a first name is good.

Here are some pics of the Teak, I plan to use it as accent pieces on stools and boxes that I will be making in the future. It came in bundles. In the shown case the bundle started out at 47.80 and the other was 51.80. I got them for 10.00 each. Pic 3-5 are the teak, Pic 6 is just something I am putting together for a sister-in-law.
