Default Additional shots from Logan

These are pics of the Pathfinder loaded with wood. The yellow is Osage orange, never heard of it but why not. My understanding is it will turn a rich brown if not protected from UV light. Buried down under the pile from bottom up is 1/4 sawed Sycamore and Ash, next is cherry then maple, on top is the Osage orange. The Osage orange is now stacked in a corner of the shop and will be drying for the next year or two.

Pic 4 is a piece of cherry that will become something artsy, could use the base you see or something like maple, not sure where I'm going with that. Another is pics 6&7, This??came to me playing around with the three pieces of resawn walnut. There is a history to it, but it is too long to go into.

I"m seein' a smallish shelving unit out on #6 & 7...

I've seen guys really scrambling to get their hands on some orange osage...I always thought that it was typical to the south west arid lands???

Great haul Jerry!!!

Jerry,
Be careful what you machine the Osage orange with, it is one of the hardest woods there is and it is murder on tools.

Thanks for the info, It will be taken to heart in a year or so, BTW I paid 1.00/bf for the Osage. I may call Ralph and see can I get some more!! What is the big draw with this wood, and how does it compare to, say, iron wood?

Hi Jerry,

I can see some great projects coming out of your shop....

I sure could produce some great projects with that lot Jerry, complete with pictures of course!
