Default Odd shapes

Bj often mentions square bearings, but take a peep at these unusually shaped gears.

Can These Gears Work?

How fun. Shows that odd shapes can work, as long as they have complementary co-parts.

Interesting, if you look closely the root of the gears is cut on a radius, on the square gears each tooth is cut a little deeper then the next, until the apex is reached then each tooth is cut a little less, and so on. the guy must have a lazer machine to play with.

I'm jelous I want a lazer machine.

Howard, I have a good friend, an electronics technician who "works" at our major university who is under-worked and spends lots of time searching interesting web sites, he knows the type of subject that interests me. The number of emails that I receive from him tells me how busy, or otherwise that he is!
