Default GMC, are they really back?

Whilst browsing the net I came upon this seemingly current GMC catalogue. Does anyone have up to date info. on GMC?

GMC

Looks like they are only available in Europe at the moment.
Some of their tools look pretty good I must say.

Hi Harry,

I see they have the ubiquitous "combo" pack with the routers.
Should be a hit in the US.....

The table saw looks like my old saw.

I could not find any prices or purchase information.

The two guys that Ran the old GMC that went into Receivership, set up a new company and tried to get the rights to sell Triton gear. Triton is now sold by Carba-Tec.

They may have bought the rights to the GMC name?????

The trouble with these web sites is that you cannot tell where they are.

PS there is a special sub-forum in the Aussie site just for Triton/GMC. They may have some information.

I've said many times Gavin that GMC represented great value per dollar.

For the life of me James, I've never understood why anyone would want a combi kit, especially in America where a new dedicated router is so cheap and a second hand one even cheaper. In my humble opinion, ALL combination tools are glorified toys, there simply isn't any substitute for a tool designed for a specific task.

Richard, since being introduced to Ebay and Paypal I don't drive very far to buy "things". "nothing west of Adelaide", Richard, the real Australia is west of Adelaide, why, here in Western Australia people are arriving by the boatload most days in addition to those arriving legally.

Please, explain GMC! The only GMC I know is General Motors Corp, didn't know they made Tools???? the Motors Corp is back under new management after the US Govt took them over. There has been, or is on going a new IPO (Initial Public Offering) stock sale, at $33.00 a share. The old stock sold for $66.00 a share. I've heard that China will buy the majority of the stock. The US Govt probabaly stands to lose about 50% of the billions they invested to bail them out.

Harry I wont tell my cuz who lives in Cairns what you said, already to many wars in this world without starting another one LOL. What I will put to the forum is this. Here in Canada we have a big box store called Rona/Revy. They carry their own brand power tools. I remember sometime ago I searched for who made their power tools, turned out to be GMC in Aus just had them slightly re-branded for their stores. Now however they have changed the name and branding colours. My 2 cents worth is they had a bad name for quality so they changed the name and colour to feel more European to help customer sales and confidence in the brand name.
