Default Kreg Router Review Down Under

Well, Father Christmas was early and he happened to drop off a Kreg router table. fence and stand.....owing to the wet weather and time on my hands I decided put the blue bomber together.....this is just a short critique and my interpretation, so dont be too harsh.
Packaging....all was in good condition on rips and tears so proceeded to unpack the stand first. Opened the instructions and on the face of it they were easy to read in good old Australian italics. "Tools Required"...5/16 socket and extension...WRONG....was 1/2 immediate email to Kreg with addy of the Metric Master in Rockingham Western Australia....they can sort that out....and we proceeded to construct the stand....all good...well made and the old Dexion(sp) used for shelving etc ....went together really well.
Instead of levellers, casters were used as they came with the deal. The leg extensions were used to the maximum height owing to chronic back toubles, I will report later on that as I havent used the machine yet.
Router Table......great bit of kit....precise, compared to my old home made attempt.Fairly easy to assemble ....EXCEPT....when it came to drilling the holes in the insert plate.....Major Drama. After a lot of head scratching trying to align the bulls eye template and the router base plate help was required. Quick email to Kreg in the States and within 15 minutes a reply....."sorry sir...the start pin hole has been printed in the wrong position" (see attachment) no worries...proceeded with the alignment and all turned out well .
Fence.....Another big plus for me...moves freely and easy to read .....should be a delight to use.
Conclusion....Although I havent used the machine as yet I was impressed with the quality and workmanship of the various fittings and the way they have been manufactured....apart from the mis print on the template it was a great way to spend the day. .....Regards....AL

Congratulations Al

You do know you cannot use it until AFTER Christmas......right.....

Yes James...definately after Christmas....its got a key ignition start and SWMBO has taken the keys......Harry,the smaller red inserts just happen to take your favorite brass template know, the ones that come undone if your not careful.
...also....forgot to came with a couple of plastic rods, about 3 mm ....wasnt until I watched the video that I realised that when jointing the rods go behind the LHS fence making it proud to the RHS....looks good on video, but in practice??? we will find out...............AL
