Default So missing the smell of wood being cut!

I haven't cut a piece of wood in so long. First, went on a little vacation to visit my daughter in Tx. Then I was suppose to spend the last 4 days of it working on my signs or some other woodwork. But then I decided to wash off the patio first, decided a hose wasn't cutting it. Bought a pressure washer, thought it wsa looking better, but needed more, so I restained it, and then since I now have a cool pressure washer, I cleaned the driveways and front porch. No vacation left after all that! So then I took the next week end off, then my father-in-law passed away last week, had to take a few days off, had a house full for 3 or 4 days. No woodworking. And then this weekend we recouped from all the house guess and just enjoyed a quiet, do nothing weekend.

So, it's been some time since I've been in the shop to cut some wood. Way behind on my Christmas signs, then wifes end table, vanity for her bathroom. And now, after all the family comments on my new bathroom and new vanity I built, the wife has decided I can build our kitchen cabinets instead of buying them. Her family that has seen all my latest work, said she woud be crazy to buy cabinets, with their cheap imatation wood, when i can build them better! And I told her with what we'll save on the cabinets, we can spend more on the countertops and new floor. She's all for it now!! Yea! But when will I find the time??? Not enough hours in the day!!

You lucky dawgs! I've been working 7x12 for the last few weeks and now this weekend, when I have 1 day off, my bride wants us to go on a 120mi road trip to a book festival. Yes, it's the thing to do... and yes, I enjoy time with her... and yes, books are a wonderful thing but I haven't gotten any shop time in weeks.. and am going through withdrawls!! :-(

Check out that new high-tech cordless router.. wireless and no recharging required!!

Sorry Jim, I know the feeling! But I think I'm going to get my chance tomorrow. Getting up early and getting at it. Cut, route and sand, can't wait! I can smell the lumber as I type!! LOL

Well I got a few hours in the shop this morning. Finished off 4 more signs for Christmas gifts. Wished I didn't like football so much, I'd have stayed out. But stopped at 12, ate and took an afternoon nap and now watching LSU vs Florida game.
Maybe I'll get out there again in the morning.
