New to the forum, for a new turner what lathe do you recommend. Is that a Penn State in the photo?

Andy, Harry lives in Australia and I think that is a Sherwood lathe.

It is as Mike said, a "Sherwood", however that is just the name that the particular importer uses. The identical lathe and various versions are available around the world under many different names and in many different colours. Even the highly rated Jet mini lathe appears to be the same castings and suspect the ones that pass all the quality control tests.
