Default How I Got Into It

I have always been interested in woodworking but only got into it seriously for about a year now. A buddy of mine bought a hunting cabin that he decided to completely remodel. The theme was to be complete cedar and we after it. I have spent pretty much every spring and summer weekend there for the last two seasons. We generated quite a bit of waste as can be imagined. The small stuff was burnt in an exterior firepit in the evenings over many a cold one. There was a ton of bigger stuff that I could not see going to ashes. I decided to make a cedar chest for my wife from laminated cedar and it took to me like a disease. Every since then I have purchased a boatload of tools, set up my shop and spend my evenings there putzing away. Here are a few pics of the cabin we renovated:

Looks like a LOT of work....and a lot of fun, too.
It's very nice, inside and out. Something to be proud of.

Beautiful work, been remodeling my house for a year and still have a couple rubber sockets hanging from the celing like in photo #6, takes forever to get finished!

Now what exactly is the Black&Decker tool in photo #3, I am guesing it is a MK III cedar aromatiser just drop in a couple slices and get the cedar smell all freshened up

(don't blame me Mike and Harry asked me to come back to the forum)

A beautiful build Mark and I'm so pleased to see Kristin Posting again after a long absence, hopefully we will soon be seeing progress shots as he continues with HIS home renovation.
