Default Owner Manual Organizer

I now keep all my power tool's owner manuals, and receipts in a small file box, in the shop.

I think that's a good idea. Lee.

Mine are all over the place and when I go to look for one it has been half eaten away by insects......LOL

Yea, that was like mines. Some were still in the plastic case, if the tool had a plastic case, and then some were in my file cabinet in my home office and some were in a plastic storage box in the shop. And the ones still in the plastic cases were either getting wrinkled, or I'd notice them on the floor, after picking up the tool and not noticing the book falling out of the case. So I solved that problem!! ;o)

I put all my manuals in shop ticket holders, then keep them on a shelf in the shop.

I keep mine in my iPad....

Almost all tool manuals are available to download in .pdf format, I load them in iBooks and they're always there, no digging to find something, no file boxes or cabinets, it doesn't take up much space.

Hard copies of the manuals that come with the tools get the purchase date and serial # written on the front, filed away in the office along with the receipt and rarely looked at again.

It's just too easy..

All I can say to that is ... Backup. Sometimes when they get older they become hard to find.

I keep mine in a box but also scan them to pdf and burn them on a disk.

I keep all my receipts, warranties and manuals in 3 ring binders....After having done this wood working thing a few years, it sure is nice to just go and get it, rather than spending hours looking for it....

all great ideas...cept the ipad one.. *LOL*.. those kinda tools never seem to last long in my hands....
