Question Whats this "Reputation" stuff all about?

OK, I am a slow learner. (Don't tell my wife), I finally see the little guy on each post for "Reputation", but I don't actually see anybodys number. How does this work, (aside from adding to thier reputation I mean). If someone has high, (or low), reputation, how would anybody else know?

The stars under your name turn gold. See, you've got a reputation already!

Cheers,

Hi Jack

At one time you got points for the reputations and you could buy things with them from OP /RWS but now it's just a nice way to say thanks..and to get a pat on the back from other members.

Thanks for the feed back in my reputations
I think we all need a pat on the back from time to time and a kind word like Thanks..and Well done ..

I have tried to help many and you would be surprise how many don't even say thanks..

Default Well Done Jigs!

Jigs,

On a personal level, I consider this place (The Router Forms as a site) to be an 'unequaled' powerhouse of technical, design and 'buyer's guide style' support.

You have an uncanny ability to keep track of the miscellaneous goodies, extra parts and widgets that often times make the difference between a project working out great or falling apart.

More important than just having this 'gift', its pretty clear to me that you spend a lot of time putting it to use by helping users on a quest, find whatever it is they are looking for. In that regard, I would be remiss for not saying 'well done'...

The best think I can say about those who don't find the time to slow down long enough to say 'thank you' is that by bringing a topic up, it gets discussed. More times than not, this discussion ends up benefiting more than just the original 'seeker'.
