Default How's this for an offer too good to refuse.

I just received this email from a friend and fellow member who lives just a few minutes from me.

Hi Harry, Just had a gift of a trailer load of new wood flooring about 10 to 15mm thick and about 80mm wide I think and mostly over 1 metre long. Most of it is Jarrah, American oak, Tasmanian Myrtle and some other woods like Blackwood, Marri etc.
You are welcome to come along and take some. Just give me a bell.
Regards,
Terry

Harry

WOW! Nice friend you have, there.
Looks like you might be busy for a while.

Yes, it really is nice having such good friends. Bob, are you still using your lathes?

Still have my lathe Harry, but wish I was using it more than I am right now. Shop time is a premium these days with all this grand child activity around here Really trying to get around to some band saw boxes at the moment.

A tutorial on the making of a band sawn box would be great Bob! The band saw box pros appear not to want to give away "trade secrets".

I'll see what I can put together if I can ever get in the shop to do it

In the mean time here is a really good You Tube tutorial on the subject:

That is a great video. One addition, you might want to add a little bumper on the back of the drawer (peel and stick rubber) to cause the drawer to not inset too far into the box.

Thanks for that link Bob, I've placed it close to the top of my long list of "to does"
Steve makes things look so easy, he's the one who designed that clever folding stool that George and I made.
