Default I've realised why the forum has been quiet the past few days

It suddenly dawned on me that most people around the world have been glued to their TV's watching the Diamond Jubilee of HRH Queen Elizabeth II. You have to agree that no one can put on a show like this better than the Brits. The TV coverage around the world was quite superb, without a single hitch. The split second timing was amazing with picture and sound quality to match.

It's probably very disloyal of me not watching seeing I'm a Pom and was born in the coronation year.

I'd been working for almost three years in 1953, that was a great year for me, I was courting the girl who is still my wife. I was also earning great money installing TV's as fast as they came into stock and customers were so grateful that they would be able to watch the coronation on black and white 9", 10" or 12" sets that they all gave a decent size tip. Tips, as you know Geoff are unheard of here in Australia.

Didn't watch it and I heard it was one costly event.
