A while back I spent a couple of bucks on a calculator app for my phone that has a fraction mode. RealCalc Plus. Only the Plus version has the fractions but it's cheap. I had no idea I'd be using it so much. Very handy.

Maybe in addition to "measure _____" (fill in any multiple of two or more) the saying should also say, "walk away for at least 30 minutes"!! Amazing how constant concentration warps our perception!

I can see no problem here. You just made a drawer for a cabinet you haven't made yet.

) I have been down that road many times, just make lemonade.

As I have been developing my "shop skill set" , I think "constant focus" is the chiefest difference between construction and shop work. In construction even doing fine interior finish work there are pauses in the work that give a "mental break" between intense focus moments.

I have had to "break myself" of doing "head math". It seems everytime I don't write the calculations on a piece of scrap I make errors. It is very humbling when I make a math mistake a 3rd grader would of had right!!!!!

Learning is an exciting adventure

Don't feel bad Warren, everyone has those days and everyone makes mistakes. This is why fireplaces were invented.
