Default Jacaranda, then and now

I might have recently posted a shot of some logs in my trailer, well here is a barrow load of them heading for my woodshed. The wood is quite dry and so ready to turn as soon as I am.

That should keep you out of trouble for a while Harry.

I want to see pictures of your shop when you are done. I saw the ones where it is clean enough to do brain surgery, I want to see some after you've done some work so I'll know if I should be genuinely embarrassed about the way mine looks most of the time.

The jacaranda looks quite light colored, like maple, birch, or ash. Is it similar to those?

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Chuck, the last photo in the PDF Harry posted shows the lathe after turning a project. Once things are organized a shop is easy to keep clean. Some day my shop will be organized.

Pretty much my sentiments too. In the meantime, I can only dream of that day

Well done Harry, It is always a noble act to save a felled tree from the chipper and then turn it into something useful, that wood will have to sit on the shelf for a while now but then? NGM

Mike, please keep aware of the fact that I'll be 80 on my next birthday!

Thanks to you all for showing such interest.

I have heard “organize or agonize.” If I wouldn’t agonize so much there might be time to get organized. I still have 20 years to learn to be like Harry!!

Workmanship is not perfection; it is how well you can cover your mistakes.
