Hi N/a. This is a forum for wood work routers, not network routers.

Wrong sort of router for this forum.

This forum is for WOODWORKING routers (pronounced "ROWTER") rather than what you have in mind which is pronounced "ROOTER".

Wood working routers came first. Who on earth decided to call a networking device a router with the same spelling!!!

Regards,

Alan.

When I worked field service, we had a routing department whose employees were called "routers"! Had nothing to do with woodworking or computer routers. Well the actually did use computers that were connected through routers.

Gotta love the English language

I have found that hand tools are the best choice when I want to make mistakes at a slower rate of speed.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Hi, Alan.

Perhaps Daikusan (Steve), in Japan, has the answer for this question.

We, woodworkers are everywhere!!!

Yeah with English as the official language for Air Traffic Control worldwide it's a wonder planes aren't just falling out of the sky daily.

... fer instance ...

Crazy English Language (B.O.M.B.)
by Gallagher
B.O.M.B. …

B.O.M.B. … “b-ah-m!” {why the second "B"?}

T.O.M.B. … “t-ah-m?” … no T.O.M.B. “t-oo-m”

C.O.M.B. … “c-oo-m?” … no C.O.M.B. “c-oh-m”

P.O.M.B. … “p-oh-m?” … no P.O.E.M. “p-oh-m”

H.O.E.M. … “h-oh-m?” … no H.O.M.E. “h-oh-m”

S.O.M.E. … “s-oh-m?” … no S.O.M.E. “s-uh-m”

N.O.M.E. … “n-uh-m?” … no N.U.M.B. “n-uh-m” {there's that worthless "B", again}

It gets worse…

W.O.R.S.E. … “wh-ur-ss”

H.O.R.S.E. … “h-ur-ss?” … no H.O.R.S.E. “h-or-ss”

And…

H.E.A.R.D. … “h-uhr-d”

B.E.A.R.D. … “b-uhr-d?” … no B.E.A.R.D. “b-eer-d”

Even…

G.O. … “g-oh”

D.O. … “d-oh?” … no D.O. “d-oo”

... also there's a "W" sound in the word 'one' which has no "W" but when you get to 'two' there's a "W" you don't use. ... Again from an old Gallagher bit.

and why do we say Amen, not Awomen?
Because we sing Hymns and not Hers!
