Well there were some issues. Not anything that appears to be Grizzly's fault, but instead Fedex.
The blemish was a bit worse than the ones I saw on another thread, but nothing that bothered me. There were some rough spots and areas where the paint was chipping off. For the price it was easily overlooked.
On the other hand though Fedex delivered the beds late (lost them in transit). When it arrived it should have been on two pallets and was on one (over half the beds hanging loose off a pallet) and the bottom of the crate was almost completely separated from the rest of the crate. So you can imagine I was a bit nervous over what may have been tweeked and how bad. I contacted Grizzly, let them know, and I expect to hear from them today.
I did the assembly anyway and the fence is out of parallel with the beds by 7/8" over the length of the fence. That is way to much to shim. The beds are out and I expected to have to tune them in, but the far end (away from blades) of the out feed table has a pretty severe droop and I am not sure that the gibs have enough adjustment to them to correct that problem.
So I am a bit sad at this point. I know it isn't a Grizzly problem, but instead the freight company that broke the machine. I have worked with Grizzly in the past and have every confidence that they will correct the problem, but it does mean I will have to wait a while before I get to play with my new jointer.
BTW there were also some freight issues with a 15" Planer I had delivered, so all in all a pretty frustrating couple of days. (Fred starts looking for his "chill" pills
I will let you guys know how it all turns out.
