Default This guy cracks me up

But I was just waiting for him to drill thru the ball and into his hand. He didn't.

He's getting a lot better with the safety... there were a few of his early videos that scared me to death.

He has a great sense of humor, and it's always fun to see his latest video each Friday.

I fully agree, Doug

He's really getting better in regards to safety - and that slit drum video is already roundabout 2 years old. On the other hand, he's always good for some off-shelve inspirations - no need to do things the same way he does.
In some way, I like him, although the way he moves the camera around might want you long for a stiff drink, latest after the n-th video of his list....

He is one of my favorites. If you walked out in the shop now you would see all of my clamps hung with clamp holders built as he built his. I liked the idea and downloaded the plans from his site. I made bar, f and c clamp holders. Changed them around a bit to fit me and what I had, but still pretty close to what Steve did.

I have to agree with most of the comments here. I am like Fred in that he is also one of my favorites. He actually looks like he really enjoys woodworking, and is great for new novel approaches and ideas. If you notice he almost never gives dimensions because he expects you to fit the project to your needs, or wants. He has put out some pretty serious project videos. I like it when an unemployed carpenter can make go of it on the net.

I used to like him. Now it seems he is in it for the money, (which I have no problem with). BUT he go a free saw and as you can see if you watch a lot of new tools.
I liked him when he made some very nice stuff with just minimal shop tools.
NOW, it is like me to my page, etc. I do not do social stuff so I do not know. Now it is a 4 minute vid, bam. Please like my page and my other page and whatever.

Totally incorrect and misleading.

Steve has a new saw as a number of fellow wood workers chipped in and bought it for him. They were impressed, as I was, on what he did with the old saw and, unknown to him, got together and bought him a larger saw.
There is a video and response on this on youtube.

It was not a "donation" from any manufacturer.

No Theo, that is not the video that I saw..

I will keep looking on Steve's site.

He got the saw in late 2011 / early 2012.

Here is a video from another site where the gift is discussed. If you look at the plaque, you may see some names you recognize.

Shop Talk with Steve Ramsey - YouTube.
