Default Hump Day Coffee n' Juice

Good Morning all. Coffee is on for those who want it, juice for us who need the Vitamins to fight off whatever this is attacking us and water for tea is in the kettle.

At work this morning and worried about my mom. She took a spill late yesterday afternoon/early evening and left her with a huge rug burn on her arm that ripped the skin right off. Gotta call the Dr. this morning and see how soon I can get her in. (I was babysitting my grandson at my daughters house waiting for her to get home when mom called). When I asked what caused her to fall when I got home she had no idea. No dizziness no stumble no nothing. No leg weakness.... And she has a walker she walks with... She said she "just went down". Let us hope that it's one if her new meds and it can be adjusted. No siblings to help and just me (adopted at that) and I have to work. Mind running in all directions trying to come up with solutions.

Barb, thanks, coffee please with cream.

They have called us the sandwich generation, caregivers to kids, grand kids and parents. I hope Mom is alright. And I also you, the all-star caregiver, take care.

My prayers with your mom, hopefully it'll just be the meds and will get well soon
Thanks for the coffee

I'll take mine black Barb, thanks very much. I'm sure Mom will be fine. We all stumble from time to time. My Mom just turned 89 and is still living on her own.

My mom had to move in with me in April Brian. She was 20 pounds under weight and depressed. So I took over her care and her finances.

Barb, my sis-in-law took that job on with my mom-in-law. A very daunting task, as she works full time as well as now being a full time caregiver. In fact, my wife is taking over for her for a week while my sis-in-law is gone out of town. Not sure how my sis-in-law is doing it.. Mom-in-law has dimentia, and depression, and constantly thinks there are other people in the house..... very heartbreaking to see.

Tea, with a shot of Newfoundland rum. My mother moved in with my sister awhile back - that took a lot of convincing, she was convinced she could live alone - even AFTER she had fallen and broker her hip. So, now she drives my sister nuts, which she can put up with tons better than I can.

Ended up having to take mom to the hospital around 4p.m. Yesterday. Her hemoglobin was at 7.7. She was given a transfusion, and other problems have been found; fluid is still around the lungs her kidneys are elevated and there is a problem with her bladder. I doubt she'll be home before next Wednesday. But, at least she's where she needs to be and I'll finally know what's really going on with her. She's been hiding everything from me.

Welcome to my world. My mother has not told me things all my life, and I'm older than you. She will talk about something, or someone, and when I express ignorance, then it's "Oh, I thought you knew". Duh, how you going to know if you've never been told?

I'm going to ignore you for the moment Theo.. Right now I'm worried about my moms health. As for what she's been hiding, it was so I wouldn't worry. Not to keep me ignorant. So I'm NOT in your world and the rest I'd like to say at the moment I'll keep to myself out of respect for the forum.
