Default It still keeps arriving

Regular followers of my posts will know that when I retired in 2000 I advised all my relatives and friends that I would gratefully accept gifts of wood and metal suitable for my lathe. Well, yesterday a friends rolled up with an 8' x 4' sheet of 3/4" MDF which he had seen advertised for FREE on Gumtree!

Free is good. Just priced a sheet of MDF-$39 at H.D.

I imagine the price in Oz is much higher.

Harry that looks like a cover sheet, thats the damaged sheets that Laminex use to protect the good sheets during delivery to the cabinet makers. The cabinet makers usually just throw most of them away as they end up with so many. Still a very useful as you know.

The best part Harry is knowing your friends are still looking out for you.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

It could be a cover sheet which are free and I always grab them when I can but if it were first grade board then 19mm MDF, would be $60 to $80 or about that at trade prices and higher at hardware prices so very good fine for nothing Harry.

I doubt that it is a cover sheet because they usually have damage at the edges where the straps have been tensioned and this doesn't.
