Hello Warren, Just curious about your back. Is it bulging (herniated) discs that go periodically ? I have the same problem, L3-4, L4-5 originating from a foolish move I made in 1970. (young and stupid days) Yearly I was laid up for a week or so. Since 2008 I've been attending a pain management clinic off and on after more unthinking moves and have had 17 trips to hospital in that time for 17 epidurals. Dexamethasone, which he calls his ultimate anti-inflammatory. I've been good since last fall. No lifting, no shoveling snow, no ladders, straining at all. I was getting max. dose 3 shots two weeks apart once a year. I've smartened up a lot since last fall. Told me he's retiring and no one else will do it. Too risky. This guy goes by feel, no scanner. Bad doses last year in Northeast U.S. paralyzed a number of people. I must be good now or it's game over. I exercise regularly and don't walk on ice. Otherwise o.k. I wish you well. You must be CAREFUL.

Thomas, I am very leary about any epid, shots or anything else like that for now. I know to many people with horror stories. I have been having 2 herniated and one ruptured disc since around 2000 and have been trying to really take it easy and smart but something last week trigured this last round and it has been a bad one (worst yet) and being laid up for this week has been rough just turned down a order for 8 picnic tables for His restaurant that kinda hurts also$$$$
