Default Common sense has prevailed

It's nice to see that the list of members who visited the site during the previous 24 hours has been restored. This shows that the powers that be are actually listening to their members, this is most welcome news and hopefully will stem the flow of members who have stopped posting of late.

Hi Harry, I mentioned that on a post to your earlier thread......

This post is puzzling. There are many reasons a person may not post on a frequent basis. What exactly is the standard and who determines that issue? Many people browse sites to gain knowledge from others who are more capable and do not post because of their lack of skill. Many have work or other life issues that does not allow them to log on every day. What exactly is this post about ? Are we talking about dumping infrequent posters or is there some other hidden meaning or feature that most of us are unaware of ?

Hello Gary...

On the home page, near the bottom of the page, there is a list of "Members who have visited within the past 24hrs". Several members have found this to be a useful means by which to keep track of other members comings and goings. Thats all...

Gary, not confusing, and certainly NOT a shot at any member... There was a list of people who "visited" the forum in the last 24 hours on the bottom of the main page of the forum. That option was removed for some reason. Harry, and a few others, expressed their displeasure at this and it was put back in.

The reason is so simple, it enables members to check on their forum friends and check on them if there is an unusual absence. It's also nice to see just how many members have visited, don't forget that this forum, unlike many others is a very friendly meeting place as well as a place to learn/teach. I don't know about you Gary, but I've formed a great many friendships since becoming a member.

Thanks Jim, I have many pain-free days but today hasn't been one of them, I've had to resort to strong painkillers. It looks like it's going to be quite a while 'till I'm allowed to pick up a router. Just one Kilo is the max. at the moment, I'm bored out of my mind.
I'm sure that once the shoulder repair is fully healed all that I'm going through will be just a distant memory!
