Until about 1980 when CD's were introduced Theo I thought like you but once I heard real quality sound with no clicks or hiss, something happened in my head and I quickly found this kind of light opera to be very uplifting and soothing at the same time.

A more uplifting, and kick your butt in gear thing for me is something like this from your country Harry. As a matter of fact I think it has a universal appeal. Even Theo will probably enjoy this.

Opera is no fun if you can't understand the words. There are a few operas that are not bad, such as Cats, because they are in English. But if you want real quality opera, check this out.

To each his own Theo. With me it isn't the words, they can be in any language, it's the music Theo that stirs up the emotions. It isn't unheard of for tears to run down my face with for example nessun dorma.
