Default Problems With Amazon's New Policy???

Just wondering if anybody else is unhappy with Amazon's new policy in which they are having the Post Office deliver their smaller packages. UPS used to just leave packags at the door when nobody was at home or did not answer the door. Now, if nobody is at home, we get the yesllow slip and have to drive to town to get the package which is much less convenient for me, just wonder if anybody else has experienced this and if what do they think about it. I have not phoned Amazon yet, but plan to.

I guess I won't be having that problem. I have not received mail at my home address since about 1984, so the post office doesn't have a home address for me. Hehehe
I did recently order some stuff from Amazon, and as usual, listed my PO Box for delivery. I had to change a couple of items to go to my home address, but no biggie.

If you have someone that will be home the next day, I would just call the PO and have them deliver again. But with me going to the PO is not a big deal, I'm only a mile and a half or so from it, and stopping there insures I get out of the house once in awhile.

I have heard of UPS leaving packages at residences and they were stolen before the owner could get there in time .So having to pick it up if your there to receive it may help . Probably more of an issue in the USA than Canada

Btw did guys here UPS and FedX and merging . There going to call it FedUp

The person not being home is not the reason for the post office drops. It is simply a cost cutting measure by Amazon just for cheaper shipping. I have been an Amazon Prime member for several years and that is one of the reasons I am considering not renewing my Prime membership. They also have added what they call an 'add-on item' to prime listed items. That means you only get free shipping if your order is over $25. I think they have forgotten what made them a great company.

This is an agreement with UPS and the post office as I understand it. In rural PA UPS gets to unload a truck load of packages at the post office and they are all 'delivered'. If we are expecting anything from UPS we just expect to go to the PO.
Unfortunately I work 30 minutes from where I live so I need to take time off from work to pick up my mail. The post office is only open for package pick up from 0930 to1630. that and a one hour lunch when they aren't open for package pick up.

Guess I'm the only one that is good with the arraignment. We get Amazon either way (USPS &/or UPS). We also get our 90 day meds from the Blue Cross mail-order division the same way and this has kept us out of the doughnut hole. With Amazon prime I order many of my shop supplies and tools as the price is usually better and returns are a call away. The 99.00 cost is only 20.00 more and does not kick-in for existing prime members for at least a year. Both groups that have changed have maintained the pricing at the same level as last year and I get it sooner for a very reasonable cost ;&0.00. So given everything I get from Amazon, including hard to find router bits and end-mills, I'm happy.

Hope your issues go away and you can be as happy as I am, besides that it has been 5+ years since I have had to go to the any of the numerous malls that Charlotte has to offer.

Good luck - Baker

I'm an, older, ex-letter carrier so things may have changed but in the day if there was a secure place to leave the parcel we would leave it, but have something stolen a couple times and see how upset you are with the P.O.
