Thank you, Carl. I'm afraid that the people in the USA don't take it as seriously as one or two generations ago. I'm appalled at the number of people that talk on cell phones, etc. while the national anthem is played at sports events.

Thanks, Carl!

I have found that hand tools are the best choice when I want to make mistakes at a slower rate of speed.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Happy 4th to all those south of the 49th.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

To all who have expressed wishes for us "Americans" thank you very much.

there will be many songs and celebrations but here is one that will not be heard nearly enough. I do not usually make posts like this one, but it changed my life the first time I heard/sang it. The last verse is a little over three years old.

" This is my song, O God of all the nations,
a song of peace for lands afar and mine;
this is my home, the country where my heart is;
here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine:
but other hearts in other lands are beating
with hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.

My country's skies are bluer than the ocean,
and sunlight beams on cloverleaf and pine;
but other lands have sunlight too, and clover,
and skies are everywhere as blue as mine:
O hear my song, thou God of all the nations,
a song of peace for their land and for mine.

May truth and freedom come to every nation;
may peace abound where strife has raged so long;
that each may seek to love and build together,
a world united, righting every wrong;
a world united in its love for freedom,
proclaiming peace together in one song.

This is my prayer, O Lord of all your children,
a prayer of peace, however they may see you;
that they have peace, peace with justice without fear
that they have food, and clothes and shelter too,
that they no more fear sickness or disaster
myself I give thee-- let thy will be done
