Default Password used as name

I received a message from the forum this morning, and was addressed (in the heading) not by my user name, nor by my first name, but by my forum password. Is this some sort of glitch? Not that I particularly mind, of course, but just curious.

Rob, as moderators we do not have access to your password.
You need to notify the administrationa and make them aware of this.

I think the first thing I would do is change the password. In my experience as admin even then it is hard to get a password. I could assign a new one but not see theirs without going into the database and even there they are encrypted. Maybe some software allows it but not anything I have used recently. It strikes me as odd that they would send it in an email too.

I have replied to the email, ([email protected]) pointing out the anomaly, but no response yet - perhaps it is an automated source, and I need to send my query to another address - can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks, Rob

Mystery solved! All my own fault - I had a sudden thought, and checked the members list.
I evidently originally registered on the forum under the user name that I now use as a password, and forgot about it - so I am registered twice. I think I will send my alter ego a PM of apology!
And of course, sorry for the false alarm!

You could use a password like "Incorrect". Then when you forget it, the computer will tell you that your password is Incorrect!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
