Default A belated answer for Joe L.

Joe, back in mid April you inquired about the possibility of cutting the outside of a routed box on the band-saw. I think that I said that it probably was possible but wouldn't give as good a finish as routing. Well, what do you know, Corey has dug-out this Woodsmith video which will answer you're question. Best wishes, Harry

Harry, if you remember, you were making a rectangular box, where I "suggested" that it would possibly be safer and easier on the equipment, to cut the outside of the box with a band saw, then clean it up with a router... you didn't care for that suggestion... OK.

Perhaps it was all these BUMPS that sent the site crashing!

Thanks to all the BUMPS, I finally saw it... must have missed it before... sorry about that.

Harry, it seems to me that I mentioned the article either to you or Tom... Either way, it was poo-pooed and NOT the way to do it...

I resolved the situation, in my mind, OK, you you do it your way... I, my way... and let that be the end of it...

To this day, I have not changed my mind.

Thank you for bringing the video to my attention... Looked like a real SAFE way to do it... to me.

I think I'd rather sand for a Finish than route for it... proper tool for the job.

Take care...

Have Fun,
Joe
