Wait Mike, a wife who can handle a rod and reel? Something fishy going on here. I spent a number of years as a news and feature photog on newspapers (never did sports). My then wife always got turned on when she saw me with a Nikon F hanging on each shoulder. It think telephotos had even more effect. And, as Forrest Gump said, "that's all I have to say about that."

We finally are seeing some monsoon clouds in the sky. Herb, have you been having rain there. We sure could use a day or four of rainfall.

It's been hot and dry. Next week it'll change to dry and hot. We're waiting on the monsoons.

I could use a little free water around here. I think the monsoons come from the Gulf, cross Mexico, play a bit in Arizona, the finally reach the Mojave. Interesting how the clouds come in from the East and SouthEast, but the winds today were westerly.

Iím not complaining about all this past moisture . Last year at this time you couldnít see the mountains threw the smoke .
I absolutely hate forest fires ,as it seems to be the norm the last few years . The fire map was practically unbelievable.

I live about 40 minutes from heavily forested areas, many of which have burned. There are way too many trees per acre up there, so bark beatles have killed lots of pines, so they go up like matches, exploding into flame in an instant. The Spring rains have given us a bumper crop of underbrush, many of which are dangerously flammable. There's always some @$$hole who flips a cigarette out the window in a rush to get to Vegas, and there goes yet another fire storm in the Cajon Pass, which is one of only a small number of routes out of the Los Angeles area.

So far this year, AZ has escaped any big ones. Hopefully, the monsoon rains will roll in soon.
