I was 21 before I drank coffee. We were on a exercise, based in one of the open parts of the Marginot Line. It was a choice of drinking coffee boiled in a 20 gallon kettle, or drink the French water. No brainer, drank the coffee. Now I know why the French are noted for drinking wine instead of water.

I never have been a coffee drinker. Well, except for when I was at work. After the first 6 months of Cokes and Snickers, I realized I needed to do something else. So, I would drink a cup of coffee. That went on for 33 years! I never drink it at home, just something to do at work - days or nights, it didn't matter.

When I retired in 2008, I had to work one more shift to make it a done deal. I went in on the night shift to work with the guys on my shift. I didn't have a job assignment, just be present. We ordered from the local seafood restaurant, and had an informal party.

When we got to the control room to make shift change, I was talking to the other guys (and gals). It had been 7 months since I had been at work. I look down, and there in my hand was a cup of coffee I had fixed when I walked in to the kitchen!

Eleven years later, and I still haven't had any more coffee. Yeah, it was a habit.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Well I had to quit drinking coffee back in 1994 because of of prostate issues . Alcohol and caffeine aggravate my prostate so badly that the doctors thought I had a dose. It wasn’t till I seen a specialist that they figured out what the cause was .
Kinda sucks that the best two substances of the earth are the ones I have to avoid .
If that isn’t extremely bad luck , nothing is lol

Problem with alcohol is that it takes hardly any to put me asleep.

There's gotta be an app for that.

That trap won't work. Needs a cup of java to really draw them in.

I guess that means you have to do your drinking right after you wake up.

Hey guys, haven't seen any posts from oec designs (I think thats his forum name) for a few days. He lives in El Paso so, it's a bit worrisome. I'm not computer savvy enough to find a way to PM him. Any ideas?
