Default I got a new to! I got a new toy! Oh Boy, Oh Boy!

I got a brand new 10" Hybred Steel City with a 30" fence - bought the floor model so that all i had to do is to install the rails. Had to drive 150 miles one way to bring it home.

Got it home put the rails on started to check out the saw and discovered the factory forgot to put on the indicator needle and the gage for the blade tilt.

Today I drove another 150 miles (300 round trip) and exchanged the saw, still better than shipping charges - they threw in a Wixey gage and a dial indicator so I can make a gage for fence and blade alignment.

Regardless of the hassle, I'm like a little kid with a new toy. (doesn't take a lot to amuse-me)

It's funny that in this forum the number of posts that bring up the idea for Router Tables only need to be simple and easy, ie: Oak Park Table. Up until now I accepted that comment kinda tongue in cheek. Well no more! I just received and watched a DVD, Basic Box Making by Doug Stowe. You want to see a simple, plain Router Table check it out. Just shows all you simple and plain guys (of course I'm only referring to the contents of your posts) must be correct. If he can produce boxes using that table and a few table saw sleds there must be something to it.

Angus, I know exactly what you mean. I recently purchased one of the Sears hybrid saws.(It is made by Steel City also) I assembled it and it was dead on accurate, right out of gate. I was able to set the angle at 22.5 deg and made an octagonal box in about 5 minutes and the angles were perfect. So much so, that the box practically fell together by itself.
I got Doug Stowe's Basic Box Making book and his Box Making book. They are both filled with tons of box making info and jigs.
