Default Christmas Away From Home

Not everyone is home for the Christmas holidays.

Merry Christmas to the men and women of our military.

I, for one, appreciate the sacrifices you are making so that I can freely celebrate the Christmas season as I wish.

Add one THANK YOU to the folks who make freedom possible for the rest of us.

Excellent post Frank - there are a lot of people that enjoy far less freedom that we in the US and Canada enjoy.

There's a section of Highway 401 in Ontario, designated as the Highway of Heroes......."the route for funeral convoys carrying fallen Canadian Forces service men and women from CFB Trenton to the coroner’s office in Toronto". Whenever they air a segment on TV, showing live footage of the procession, it makes be both sad and thankful for the service and sacrifice made by our Force's men and women.

Frank: I remember. As have many others, I spent two Christmas holidays walking guard duty in the bitter wind and snow/icy rain. Thank God for men who still voluntarily do so.
