Meteorologists have this thing about not looking out the window.
We showed up at base ops for a weather briefing and the forecast conditions were clear and 10 miles visibility.
If he had bothered to look out the window he would have observed fog and < 1 mile visibility.

It's one of the few professions where you can be wrong most of the time and still keep your job.
