I am always amazed at the lengths people who love birds will go to photograph them. Climbing to a tiny platform in a tall tree is not something I'd care to try, even in my youth. I feed birds all year long because they are such cheerful creatures. I put out shelled sunflower seeds so we always have plenty dancing and fluttering outside our kitchen window. We have planted trees and flowers to attract them as well. But the Birds of Paradise are so rare and exquisite and lovely to see up close. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks, Harry. I have a magazine where a fellow has seen 350 species of birds in Tennessee; 771 species in the US; 2,600 species worldwide. Birds are fascinating and, at the same time, most colorful.
