Default iPad Air looses passwords when you delete history

Guys I like to clean my cookies and history once a week , and with my iPad Air it shows in safari that passwords and user names have been saved , but they never work , as every time I delete my history in safari ,all password and user names are erased and I have to log in again .

I have to say Apple is starting to get on my nerves .I should probably ask this question at an Apple forum , but I thought I'd ask as I do not want to join there

I donít always insulate , but when I do .
Ok ,I never insulate

Do you have Keychain turned on under the iCloud settings? You might check to see if you have Autofill Names & Passwords turned on under the Safari settings.

I thought keychain was for your credit card information

Looking forward to your participation.
Filling out your profile to include (first name, tools and short bio is strictly (optional )but does help members to better relate to each other.
Thank You John

?... I thought Win 7 saved passwords in the 'Password Vault'?
I try NOT to save passwords to sensitive sites, Banks etc., but I know that some of my Bookmarks' passwords are most definitely saved in the vault. They auto fill when I visit.

Oops! It just occurred to me that it's probably Firefox that's saving my passwords, not IE (which I don't use).

Keychain can also save your login names and passwords for websites.
