Default Occasionally the sun shines in the NW

I can't claim to be the photog here but I did see these as they occurred and they were even more magnificent to the eye. Spring in the NW is full of surprises.

My neighbor down the road snapped these off his deck with his new mobile phone.

That little hillock out there is Mt hood.

The second one was great but the first photo doesn't do justice to that sunrise as it developed.

It;s amazing how light it is up here once the rains start to abate.

Remember the original Timberline Lodge?! Pretty sad when it burned down.

Beautiful!
What do they call three consecutive days of sunshine in Seattle? Summer!

Sunrise, right?
We like to keep the myth going about too much rain. Keeps the population down.

I lived in Portland for 3 years and loved being able to see Mt. Hood, which was only possible between April and September. From the top floor of the house I lived in on SE Taylor I could also see the top of St. Helens. I don't know if the top would be visible from there now.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

@DaninVan :
As I recall it wasn't the "lodge" per se that burned down but an associated hut and part of the old tram.

@Carlswoodturning :
Mt. Hood is about 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon and the photos were taken just outside of Boring.

@Knothead47 :
@rlw7532:
You're both quite correct. Within an hour of those photos the mountain disappeared and the rains came in for the rest of the day. In fact the current forecast is for off and on rain with 40+ winds for the next 7 days.

@CherryvilleChuck:
next time in that area I'll check it out and let you know. Of course that would also require a sunny day so it may be awhile before you get your answer.
