Very nice. It's crazy how something as simple as a bookshelf can make or break a room.

Hi Microsuffer
Not only did you make a fine piece of furniture, you created functionality that will last many years and serve your daughter well, maybe it will move down to your grandchildren.

There is, beyond the functional appreciation, a great deal of sentimental attachment. My daughters each treasure any wood project I make for them. That bookcase is still jealously protected and in use though the owner has long since left school and is married. The alarm clock has moved to a new location, but the bookcase is chock full of favorite books.

Well, it is elegant!

Cheers,

Isaiah 44:13 Another shapes wood, he extends a measuring line, he outlines it with red chalk. He works it with planes and outlines it with a compass...

Usual kit: Table saw, band saw, dual base router and table, lathe, various saws, planer, sanders, and a multitude of hand tools.

I think bookcase looks great and if it fits and works, that is what counts in a dorm.
