I decided to group some of my turning project photos here.

Those examples of turning are quite nice. I see some dark wood. Is it ebony or some other wood that is ebonized?

I have experimented with ebonizing and have had some fun with it.

There is no ebony in any of those photos, all are natural wood with a friction polish of Hut Crystal Coat. The darkest pen in the bottom left of the group photo is african blackwood. I have made a pen our of ebony and it came out very nice but I sold it before taking a photo. I have more ebony and will produce another pen and post photos. I have not bothered to try changing the appearance of any of the woods, they are all beautiful with a clear finish.
