Default VacGuard

Here is my updated version of a bit guard. I christened it the VacGuard for obvious reasons. This is a very easy build, will work with any table and does double duty as a guard and starting pin. Details on the build are in the video. Yes, it's ok to say my work "sucks!"

Cool

Hi Mike!

That looks like a pretty SLICK gismo!

Where is the Video mentioned?

What is that vertical piece coming out of the Top of the guard used for?
Turn it upside down & use it as a bit?

Very clever being able to use it as a Starter Pin!

Sure looks simple enough to build!

Have Fun,
Joe

Greetings Joe, glad to see you back on the community!

The video that Mike is speaking of can be found here: Router Forums - Router and Woodworking Video: Safe free hand routing / Building a vacuum bit guard

In the future I plan integrating a link and some sort of message to the video discussion threads so that they can be easily found.

OK!

Thank you!

It's a LED Flashlight!
Like what you can get from HF?

That would make a huge difference... it's always nice to have Light around the cutting area!

Great little device!

COOL!

I have to make one of those!

Thank you very much!

Have Fun,
Joe

Joe, a full description of the VacGuard is a sticky thread under table mounted routing. You can view it here: http://www.routerforums.com/table-mo...tml#post257071
